Today's Topic: First Aid
What is it?
First aid is the first and immediate treatment of a sick or injured person. It helps people feel better and get better. When someone is given first aid, it is usually while someone else calls the hospital, so the person doesn't get injured, hurt, or infected any further. You may have seen people use first aid in movies when someone gets hurt if they are in the middle of a forest. When you are hiking for example, you might get bitten by a snake. You should use a first aid kit to treat the bite, then get help if you can.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for giving First Aid to someone, you must take a couple courses either online or in person. This includes a CPR course as well. You need to be at least 11 years old to qualify for First Aid, but you do not need to be a certain age to qualify for CPR. It's more based on human strength than how old you are.
When?
The kit for first aid was first created in 1888. A conversation inspired the first kid by Johnson and Johnson. Robert Johnson started a conversation with the Denver & Rio Grande Railway's chief surgeon. The conversation was about how there is not enough medical equipment to treat injuries on the tracks. This inspired Johnson to create a kit that could solve the problem. it would help others and also help him create a business.
