Ilvermorny

Today's Topic: Ilvermorny

What is it?

Ilvermorny is a fictional school thought of by J.K Rowling. It is a school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, just like Hogwarts, but in North America.

Apparently, Ilvermorny was founded in the 17th century. it is on a mountain, and is covered/protected by lots of spells and magic.

Houses

If you are familiar with the series Harry Potter, then you know that there are four "houses" in the school. The sorting hat is a hat that you wear and he talks and says what house you belong in. He does this based on your traits as a person. For example, students in Gryffindor are brave, daring, but reckless at times. Students in Ravenclaw are smart, motivated, but can spend too much time fulfilling their own interests sometimes. There are two other houses, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Like the rest, they have their own traits.
In Ilvermorny, the four houses are Horned Serpent, Wampus, Pukwudgie, and Thunderbird.

Horned Serpent

Students in the house of Horned Serpent are shapeshifters, mind-benders, and scholars. They are smart. Something that is commonly believed is that each house at Ilvermorny has a correlation to a house at Hogwarts. JK Rowling has said before that this is not true. They are different schools. So, though you might think Horned Serpent is like Ravenclaw, it is not.

Wampus

Students in the Wampus house are dependable, loyal, have integrity, aggressiveness, and focus.

Pukwudgie

Students placed in the house of Pukwudgie are independent, mischievous, and have big hearts.

Thunderbird

If a student is placed in Thunderbird, then they are adventurous, courageous, a little reckless, and overall brave.

That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed reading about the houses of Ilvermorny! You can also take some tests online to see which house you would be in.      Stay safe and check out some of our other posts!
